This Privacy Policy explains how Open Date ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our fridge expiry tracking mobile application, including any subscription purchased through the Google Play Store.
By downloading, installing, or using Open Date, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect

Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and language/region settings.

Usage data: features used, screens viewed, session length, crash logs, and diagnostic data, used to improve app performance and stability.

Notification data: information needed to send you expiry reminders and alerts (e.g., scheduled notification tokens), if you enable notifications.
1.3 Subscription and Payment Information (via Google Play)
Open Date offers optional premium subscriptions. All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing, Google's official in-app billing system.

We do not collect or store your credit card number, bank details, or other full payment credentials — these are handled entirely by Google Play.

We receive limited, non-financial subscription information from Google Play necessary to manage your entitlement, including:

3. Data Storage and Sync

If you use the App without creating an account, your fridge inventory data is stored locally on your device only.

If you create an account and enable sync, your inventory data is stored securely on our servers (or a third-party cloud provider acting on our behalf) so it can be accessed across your devices.

Open Date relies on the following third-party services, each of which may process limited data on our behalf:

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time through your device settings; doing so may limit certain App features.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes related to Google Play subscription purchases.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
